WOMEN & FASHION FILMFEST ‘14
The Women & Fashion FilmFest begins on Tuesday June 3rd and continues through Saturday June 7th. The annual festival will be launched with a Red Carpet opening benefit hosted by celebrity stylist Jacqui Stafford. The festival continues Wednesday and ends Saturday with the Grand Finale, a runway show hosted by TRUE Model Management along with Runway The Real Way. The event focuses on gathering leaders in fashion, entertainment, and media to support women, with an emphasis on educating, empowering and creating opportunities for female artists and artisans.

The event will feature top designers, supermodels, filmmakers and celebrities walking the red carpet to celebrate fashion and film, with a focus on the initiative to empower women and girls. This year, The Women & Fashion FilmFest will honor Sara Ziff, Founder of the Model Alliance with their first Inspiration and Visionary Award.
The start studded event includes: Nigel Barker, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Governor William Paterson, Designers Catherine Malandrino, Stephen Burrows, Maggie Norris, ABC Star of “The Chew” Carla Hall, Supermodels Sessilee Lopez, Grace Bol, Candace Huffine, Claudia Mason, Crystal Renn, Sundance Productions President Laura Michalchyshyn, Vimeo President Dae Mellencamp, legendary Vogue Editor André Leon Talley and many more are involved with the event this year.
Phi Unit – Your Little Sister’s Favorite DJ and Co-Founder of Building Beats will spin the music.

The Girls Empowerment Fashion Runway strives to motivate, fortify, educate, inspire, support, and empower young women to live their dreams and enjoy all aspects of their lives.

The Girls Empowerment Fashion Runway show will feature designs by students of the United Colors of Fashion (UCOF), a nonprofit that provides free fashion education to under-resourced youth, local design colleges, local high schools, and Best Dressed New York. Make Up For Ever Academy will provide hair and make-up for those walking the runway.
GEFR will also include educational, health and nutritional workshops backstage by The Luminous Foundation, Karen Lee Group, Model Moves/iModelSchool, Divine LifeStyles, Be Your Best Health, Gerardo Porteny Backal, Admittedly, and more.
DJ Marcus will spin music for a post-show dance party, 3:30-5:00p.m.
