Plus- Sized Models Sell More Lingerie Than Slim Models
Adore Me conducted a recent study based on 3 different television advertisements featuring 3 different types of lingerie models. The study used standard A/B testing, which consisted of consumers viewing the various ads and then measuring their preferences and buying patterns. Results of the study showed that that plus-sized models were responsible for 4X’s the amount of lingerie sales.
Morgan Hermand-Waiche, founder of Adore Me, recently told CNN “There’s an overall mentality that you have to be supper skinny…we are showing that we offer lingerie for everyone.” Adore Me, an online and relatively new lingerie company, offers bras ranging in sizes from 30A to 44G, providing something for everyone. The company also believes style should be independent of size and features adorable underwear in various sizes.

The company spokesperson also stated, “We were happy to see that featuring a plus size model in an ad quadrupled sales. The amount and quality of traffic clearly showed that plus size models resonate with women of all sizes and boost sales across the board, and not just in the plus-size line.” It seems consumers are demanding a variety in sizes and in the representations of beauty, which we find truly wonderful.
