Pinterest’s Introduction of Buyable Pins May Revolutionize Online Shopping
Have you ever come across something fabulous on Pinterest and spent hours searching the Internet to find out where to buy it – only to come up empty handed?
Pinterest has announced their newest feature, buyable pins, which may prove to solve this problem by combining two of Americas’ favorite pastimes: pinning and shopping! Buyable pins allow pinners to not only save their favorite products, but to buy them right from the Pinterest site.
Buyable pins will feature a blue “Buy It” button on the top left of the pin, as well as the item’s price in blue. The interactive pin allows you to easily browse and view your product in all of the available colors without ever having to leave the pin. Once you find the perfect color, simple click “Buy It” and you can either pay with a credit card or with Apple Pay.
In addition to stumbling upon a great find, pinterest will now feature filter and search components that will allow you to search for specific items meeting criteria you set. With millions of buyable pins introducing products from a variety of participating retailers, such as Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Michaels, Shopify, Pinterest may forever change online shopping. So get ready to do some serious pinning and shopping – the new feature is expected to rollout in the next couple week.
