Moto Guno Selected Models with Acne to Showcase Collection at Milan Men’s Fashion Week
Is Acne Fashionable?
More and more, the fashion world is becoming more inclusive and embracing features that are typically considered flaws or imperfections by society. This past week, during Milan Men’s Fashion Week, designer Moto Guno decided that models showcasing his collection, would sport a natural, fresh face. While a fresh face may seem like a standard look in fashion, Guno was not talking about your average light makeup, I woke up like this – but really have make up on – look.
Instead, all of the models who walked in Guno’s runway show had visible pimples, blemishes, and “imperfections,” leaving the public wondering if bare faces (acne and all) are really in. In fact, regarding the show’s makeup, some speculate that rather than concealing, products may have been used to create and/or highlight acne and blemishes!
Considering that Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, this show speaks to a number of people beyond fashion. In addition to keeping it real regarding skin, the designer’s collection featured many gender-bending garments and introduces a couple of looks for the new women’s wear line.
