Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen Open The Row’s First Flagship Store in NYC
The fashion design duo is opening their first flagship store in New York City. The pair chose an elegant, 3-story townhouse that was built in 1910 and is located on 17 East 71st Street, to be exact. The Row, which was established in 2006, has an existing brick-and-mortar store located in Los Angeles, on Melrose. However, the two had been thinking about creating a NYC store for quite a few years. It just so happened that the an ideal west coast space became available first.
Known for offering upscale, ready-to-wear, fashion staples, the pair is applying the same clean, detail-oriented, and lavish aesthetic to their shop location. According to Bustle, the townhouse previously housed two of the most prominent hair salons prior to being purchased for The Row and features a glass courtyard, a marble spiral staircase, a swimming pool, and more.
The twins had been eyeing the property for 2-years prior to purchasing and commented that they wanted a home-style feel and to focus more on creating an experience rather than just providing a clothing store. They want people to be able to interact with the space and to engage all of their senses. The flagship will house many art pieces and collectables that Mary-Kate and Ashley have acquired over the years. Like it’s west coast counterpart, all items in the store will be for sale, which means new pieces will be brought in regularly.
The new store is slated to open by the end of the year. So, get ready for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience!
