Aerie’s Newest Campaign Promotes Body Positivity
Aerie’s newest campaign promotes body positivity for all women. Share Your Spark is the newest campaign being launched by Aerie, American Eagle’s intimates and loungewear brand. The “Share Your Spark Experience” was filmed over 2 days and features 40 girls of various sizes, shapes, ages, ethnicities, and professions including: TRUE Model Jaclyn, Aerie designers, bloggers, models, and social media fans. Haliee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” sets the tone as the song plays throughout the video. With a behind the scenes perspective, women are seen coming together and celebrating their bodies, as they dance, light sparklers, and share positive words of encouragement.
The campaign promotes Aerie’s Sunnie Collection, and aims to empower women and to provide more realistic and relatable representations of women. As the narrator of the video points out, “half of the girls have never even been on a photoshoot.”
According to WWD, Jennifer Foyle – global brand president of Aerie explains, “the idea for Share Your Spark was to allow young girls to share their stories about body positivity and acts of kindness.”
Aerie has built up quite a reputation for keeping it real and for body positivity since the company swore off photoshop in 2014. Additionally, the brand carries a range of sizes and continues to create clothing that numerous women can feel comfortable and confident in.
