TRUE Model Exclusive Skincare Tips and Tricks
Ever wonder how models keep their skin looking healthy and beautiful? Here is how 10 TRUE models maintain glowing picture-perfect skin!
Anny: I make apple face masks to moisturize my skin (I grind half an apple and apply it to my face for 25 minutes, twice a week). Usually, I’ll apply raw honey for 20 minutes (twice a week), and that helps to eliminate impurities and makes my skin glow.
Carolan: Oils have been my lifesaver and I believe the ultimate anti-ager and healer! Every night I use coconut oil on my body, Josie Maran Argan hair oil serum, And Rodin Olio Luso face oil.
Alison: Coconut Oil for everything!!
I apply organic coconut oil all over my body, generously, right after the shower and then I put on a cozy robe and let it sink in before getting dressed. It’s an inexpensive, chemical free moisturizer and the only thing that I’ve found that really helps with my dry skin.
I also mix 2 parts sugar one part coconut oil and use it to exfoliate my lips.
Ekaterina H: I always start my day with a glass of water, which is the best thing to do for one’s skin. Next recommendation is that I turn the shower water temp down for a quick burst before turning off the water. Sleeping in cold rooms is also better for your skin.
For the body, use any cream you want just add a few drops of rosemary oil. It will keep your skin tight and remove cellulite.
Melinda: I swear by Argan oil for my face, neck and décolletage, and using tea tree oil as an astringent several times a week because it doesn’t dry you out as much as chemical-based astringents. I use Jason’s Organics brand for both.
Ekaterina M.: I always make healthy home-made masks for my face & hair!
The Sweet Avocado Smoothing Mask is my favorite. Avocado and honey face mask to help soothe, smooth, and hydrate the skin.
- ½ avocado
- 1 tbsp organic honey
- 1 teaspoon Greek yogurt (the higher in fat, the more moisture)
Mash the avocado until it’s smooth, then mix in the yogurt & honey. Let sit on your face for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Kendra: My biggest winter skin solution is sleeping with a humidifier! NYC apartments have the worst dry heat, and sleeping with a humidifier helps tremendously.
Tonia: I love the all natural products of Naturopathica. After exfoliating I spritz the lavender honey balancing mist and seal the moisture in with either their carrot seed soothing facial oil or their calendula essential hydrating creme!
Kimberly: I wear Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and DayWear SPF 15. Those products protect my skin well from pollution and UV rays. I make sure to drink plenty of lemon juice with water to keep hydrated! The lemon keeps my skin healthy and resilient. The night before a casting or shoot, I will wear Live Live’s Organic Bee Yummy Honey Mask. It makes my skin GLOW!
Dawn G: (Author of “Nature’s Beauty Secrets”) For Dry, Sensitive Skin, I make this mask:
Banana-Cucumber Delight Mask
Bananas are packed with vitamins and minerals that are great for your skin. They are a natural source of potassium, the mineral that keeps the balance of body fluids in the cells. Potassium plumps up skin cells, making skin soft and moist especially in the winter! Bananas are also abundant in Vitamin A, which is essential for new skin growth.
- ½–1 banana, mashed
- ½ cucumber, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp honey
- ½ lemon
- 1–2 drops lavender essential oil
Combine mashed banana and cucumber in a small mixing bowl. Blend together. Add honey and squeeze lemon juice into the mixture. Add lavender oil and blend. Spread mixture over face and rinse off after 30 minutes.
