Our Favorite New York City Coffee Shops
Caffeine that’s just as Instagram-worthy as it is delicious.
Coffee shops can be found on every corner of the bustling, busy streets of New York City. If you’re a self-proclaimed caffeine junkie, or even if you just love the occasional caffeine fix, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to finding a steaming cup of joe in a ten foot radius of you at any given moment – the pickings are plentiful. But the extra good thing about New York City is that you have waaaay more to choose from than just your usual Starbucks and Dunkin’. For all the laid back hipster souls out there in search of those independent cafes – the ones where you can nestle yourself in the corner writing poetry in coffee-stained journals while Bon Iver plays over the speakers – New York City is the place to look. Warm, cozy spots offering the best of the best when it comes to our favorite caffeine-filled drinks line the streets of New York City waiting for you to stop in, grab a cup of joe, and revel in their rich, dreamy goodness, and we promise that these independent cafes are much more Instagram and daydream worthy than your usual chain coffee shops. For your daydreaming, perusing, and caffeine sipping needs, here are some of Our Favorite New York City Coffee Shops.
Serita Coffee – 189 Roebling St, Brooklyn
Serita Coffee is one of the first installments of Krasi, a Brooklyn-based Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand, and its decor is completely Instagram-worthy. Serving up light bites along with selections of drip coffees, espressos, and lattes, we definitely recommend hitting up this joint for your caffeine needs. This winter you’ll definitely want to check out the Serita Espresso Blend – an espresso that offers you a rich heavy body with hints of dark chocolate and citrus. Yum!
BKG Coffee Roasters – 557 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn
For delicious coffee that’s roasted, packaged, and shipped out directly from their very own coffee shop, BKG is what you’re looking for – and probably dreaming of. Enjoy a homemade craft brew in the cozy shop itself, or bring home a freshly ground bag for someone you know will love it – which is everyone! If coffee isn’t exactly your thing, don’t worry. With a variety of artisanal teas you’ll find something to sip on regardless of your caffeine preferences.
Blank Slate – 121 Madison Avenue , New York
Blank Slate serves up a number of food items, including gourmet breakfast options, flavor-packed sandwiches, and small plates to enjoy in their charming cafe or to take on the road with you. Along with artisan coffees and teas, Blank Slate is the perfect spot for a quick bite and your daily caffeine fix. Think: Sunday brunch spent munching on rose berry waffles and sipping on cold brew – sounds like the perfect brunch to us.

Their tranquil setting is perfect for anyone who needs a break from the hustle and bustle of New York City, and their menu is what keeps people going back for more. We suggest one of their savory puff pastries.
Two Hands – 164 Mott St, New York
Arguably the most Instagram-ed cafe in all of New York City, Two Hands knows exactly how to mesh great bites, good coffee, and chic vibes to keep people coming back for more. We recommend the verona sandwich paired with one of their drinks prepared all pretty in a mason jar. No one ever said you couldn’t Instagram the same artsy cafe more than once (or twice).
Astoria Coffee – 3004 30th St, Astoria
Astoria Coffee is exactly what to look for when searching for your comfy and cozy neighborhood coffee shop. Enjoy a warming matcha latte while chowing down on a pastry from Amy’s Bread. Or, if you’re stopping by when the suns out, cool down with an ice cream sandwich from Melt Bakery.
